Job Summary

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator supports the management of Marketing Cloud for the Krannert School of Management Salesforce Org within the Purdue University Salesforce infrastructure. The administrator is responsible for the secure and efficient execution of marketing automation, constructing and monitoring of marketing campaigns, drafting and presenting reports and performance analytics, anticipating and accounting for current and future Marketing Cloud needs for the school, and adapting the school’s approach with the evolution of the university’s Salesforce environment. In addition, the administrator will serve as the key resource and support personnel for the integration of apps and extensions that might augment or enhance the Marketing Cloud technology. As the school’s primary power user of Marketing Cloud, the administrator will also work with counterparts across campus as well as those serving to support the larger Salesforce development on campus.

The successful candidate will be proficient in the following:

  • Documenting constituent communication journeys and mapping information flows
  • Converting communication plans into comprehensive marketing automation workflows
  • Applying critical problem solving to deliver custom communication solutions
  • Implementing development best practices across multiple communication mediums including email, SMS, digital assistants, app push notifications, and emerging engagement methods
  • Effectively leveraging marketing technologies such as Journey Builder, and Flow among others
  • Ensuring a secure data environment and transmission practices that adhere to university guidelines
  • Utilizing Marketing Cloud to manage lists, data extensions, subscriber lists, and segmentation groups
  • Managing the reporting, dashboards, and other analytics outputs for Marketing Cloud campaigns and capably conducting regular presentations of results to key stakeholders
  • Overseeing quality assurance checks within Marketing Cloud
  • Configuring new business units and use cases of Marketing Cloud across the Krannert org
  • Conducting training and cultivating power users among the greater marketing team
  • Keeping a pulse on emerging apps, features, and functionality and making recommendations for adoption of solutions from the Salesforce App Exchange and/or Marketing Cloud Hub Exchange
  • Reviewing and adapting communication plans to shifting trends and product evolution
  • Working in a highly collaborative environment with professionals in creative/design, social media, content development, data management, analytics, web development, and other marketing-related fields
What is needed:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • Four years of relevant experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
  • Understanding of Marketing Cloud best practices and familiarity with Salesforce environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop creative solutions
  • Excellent project management skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize work
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization: orally and in writing
  • A positive approach to work and an encouraging attitude
  • Exemplary customer service through frequent communication, positive relations, and prompt support
  • Ability to critically evaluate business requests from the underlying true needs of the organization
  • Capabilities to write SQL queries

What we would like for you to bring:

  • Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
  • Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
  • Understanding of content personalization and basic programming concepts (AMPscript)
  • Familiarity with higher-level functions such as developing Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and conducting gap analysis between Marketing Cloud functionality and organization requirement
