Department Summary

The Systems & Processes (S&P) Department, situated under the broader Operations & Planning team at ClimateWorks designs, develops, and manages the core online applications used by the organization to support key business processes including developing the vision and long-term roadmap for the broader systems architecture. The S&P Department works collaboratively with internal departments to provide guidance and technical support for systems integrations used to manage ClimateWorks online marketing and event management platforms, ClimateWorks’ Intranet as well as real time data transfers between the general ledger and grants management systems.

The S&P Department also collaborates with the Global Intelligence Department to curate and maintain the systems and processes that are used to collect, store, analyze and share climate and philanthropic insight related data with internal staff and partners. The philanthropic insights function of the Global Intelligence service is one of many shared responsibilities between the Global Intelligence team and the Systems & Processes team in support of the Global Intelligence Service.

The Salesforce Administrator will report to the Director, Systems & Processes.


Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Systems Administration and Development

  • Be the primary Salesforce System Administrator for a complex instance which includes a Salesforce Experience (Community), multiple platform integrations, and a data visualization integration
  • Lead strategic security approach and implementation for various audiences both internal and external. Manage user accounts following onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees and contractors in Salesforce.
  • Own data management processes, including mass export/import/update, de-duplication and record merging, field and functionality creation and management, and advanced report and dashboard development
  • Develop and maintain automations and flows
  • Research and implement solutions and 3rd party integrations needed for system enhancements
  • System Admin for the Workato connection to Salesforce, including monitoring and investigating errors
Project Management
  • Create and manage project plans from discovery to implementation
  • Use S&P Department's task and project management applications to identify and prioritize short term tasks/ticket requests together with longer term projects
  • Effectively coordinate related workstreams internally and across various contractors
Systems Governance
  • As the Primary point of contact for the Salesforce ticketing queue, appropriately respond to user questions and requests for support, assign tickets to designated members of S&P Department, and identify, research and solve technical problems.
  • Develop and maintain routine processes for audits and system maintenance, including documentation of system configuration and core processes
  • Create and maintain multiple sandboxes including regular refreshes (full, partial and development versions) and fully utilize back-up systems
  • Drive CWF’s development lifecycle to accurately deploy system changes
  • Manage roll-out of [Register to View] releases, including identifying opportunities to adopt and roll out new features, rigorous testing of features impacting CWF’s Salesforce instance, and synthesize new features and impacts for the team
  • Regularly collect, report on, and share user analytics with S&P Team
  • Continually identify opportunities for process improvement, better user experience and automation
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Salesforce Administrator
  • Current Salesforce Administrator certification
  • Experience with the implementation of or large projects for a Salesforce instance with more than 200 users and notable integrations
  • Must be knowledgeable and current on Salesforce trends and best practices
  • Experience with help-desk ticketing software (such as SolarWinds, JIRA, etc.)
  • Experience with project management software (such as Asana, TaskRay, JIRA, etc.)
  • Innately curious and driven problem-solver, motivated to investigate and correct irregularities in functionality or data, including discomfort with messy data
  • Must be extremely well-organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, primarily remote environment as part of a highly collaborative team
  • Must have excellent customer service skills in order to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Interest in climate change with a commitment to ClimateWorks’ mission and values, including a desire to understand the data itself and its strategic importance to organizational business processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Salesforce Certifications:
    • Advanced Salesforce Administrator Certification (strongly preferred)
    • Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification
    • Salesforce Platform Developer 1 Certification
  • Experience with Visualforce development and familiarity with Apex Code
  • Experience or familiarity with the following tools (or those with similar functionality) Workato, Apsona, Salesforce Optimizer, Copado, Tableau, Qlik, Pardot (strongly preferred), Aventri

ClimateWorks offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience (geographic differential applied based on location).


Location

ClimateWorks Foundation is based in the San Francisco Financial District. This position is classified as US Flexible. Exceptional candidates can work from the SF office or from other locations, geographic differential applied to compensation based on local cost of labor.
