Job Description
The National Grid Salesforce, Web & Mobile team is currently seeking a software engineer who is passionate about technology and has the ability to build and support highly usable and reliable applications.
Working within the site reliability engineering team you will be responsible for ensuring our Salesforce, Web & Mobile applications are performing well, resolving end user incidents, deploying software using CI/CD pipelines and building new features.
This role represents the opportunity to work within an enterprise level Salesforce implementation across multiple clouds, portals and integration layers. About the role:
- Undertaking all roles required as part of an agile development team to design, build and deploy applications in line with business needs and priorities
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to the platforms and applications within the Salesforce, Web & mobile tea including occasional out of hours support
- Support the business stakeholders by advising on the practicality of solution alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operation realities and providing recommendations
- Passion for learning new technologies, this team currently builds and supports applications on the Salesforce platform, Mulesoft Integration platform and the Unily CMS
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Reviews requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Use of software monitoring to understand the performance of our applications, detecting issues before our users and using data to improve future performance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in related field
- At least 2+ years of experience working in the technology industry
- Knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe etc.)
- Experience a strongly typed, object-oriented programming language such as Java, APEX
- Experience of Javascript
Beneficial Experience:
- Certification with a technology vendor such as Salesforce, Mulesoft or Microsoft
- Knowledge of Salesforce platform / Apex
- Knowledge of Mulesoft platform
- Knowledge of Unily CMS / Lifereay Platform
- Knowledge of CI/CD Tools such as GIT, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
- Experience with ALM tools such as JIRA, BitBucket and Azure DevOps
- Experience of a Javascript web development framework such as Angular or ReactJS
- Experience working with ServiceNow
