Summary:

As our Marketing Automation Salesforce Integration Architect, you’ll play a vital role at Tom Ferry. We are looking for a proactive individual that can help us continually improve and enhance our Marketo and Salesforce Integration, gathering requirements and feedback and designing best practice solutions.

Additionally, our Marketing Automation Salesforce Integration Architect is responsible for the administration, maintenance, feature enhancements, and development of our Marketo/Salesforce Integration. As a Product Architect, you will own the integrity and strength of the solutions recommended. The Marketing Automation Salesforce Integration Architect will serve as the subject matter expert for solution development that will include configuration, development, integration and customization of complex environments and business processes. You’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to our systems team and relevant business units, and an effective mentor for other professionals working alongside you.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical, analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization. You will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impact. A key part of this role will be to take ownership of the reporting responsibilities on Marketo and Salesforce like building out custom dashboards to present to senior stakeholders. We are seeking a self-starter, with a bias towards action, who can recognize and make process improvement recommendations. In this role, you will be mainly using the platforms in a technical/administrative capacity, in a more hands-on capacity to build connections between Marketo and Salesforce. You will also be motivated, team oriented and passionate about Salesforce technology.

You will need a deep understanding of both the Marketo platform and the Salesforce platform; just as importantly, top-notch people skills to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for configuration, design, functionality and end-user support of all Marketo Integrated fields and processes into our Salesforce instance
  • Collaborate closely with Digital Marketing, Sales Development, and SalesOps teams to build and
  • manage lead scoring, lead routing, lead source attribution, audience segmentation, list hygiene, and others
  • Analyze data to find trends, identify potential data issues, monitor progress through the funnel and spot areas for improvement for processes and database health
  • Proactively find blockers and challenges to our growth and take the initiative to solve them
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather & analyze requirements and propose solutions that leverage Salesforce functionality. Translate approved solutions into actionable deliverables, ensuring high levels of quality, accuracy, process consistency, and en emphasis on scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience
  • Conduct research into team members use of Salesforce, producing a report of findings with recommended steps and a roadmap for Salesforce solutions
  • Collaborate with colleagues and customers to create prototypes and proofs of concept as a means of eliciting and defining requirements
  • Identify risks and areas for improvement; prioritizes, designs and facilitates successful implementation and adoption of new processes
  • Estimate scope for development efforts and Identify unused or underutilized platform features as alternatives
  • Contribute to a platform roadmap and define priorities, liaising with stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the Salesforce Administrator and Developer to validate business requirements and any considerations (security, scalability, limits) and providing proactive feedback on solutions for issues that arise during business validation
  • Use Salesforce APIs to integrate with Marketo
  • Custom User Interface development, including Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, and Lightning Web Components
  • System Integrity Ownership: Responsible for constant review of all automations, related to marketing operations, for accuracy and issues to ensure system is operating at a consistently high level of speed and to provide solutions recommendations proactively on how to achieve a better maintained system
  • Rich understanding of customizations and the ability to audit, recommend, improve, and/or update customizations for best practice alternatives
  • Experience with unique Salesforce instances that leverage non-standard Salesforce Objects in primary business process and practices
  • Ensure documentation of the steps for testing
  • Best Practices: Adhere to Salesforce best practices, maintain code documentation, and write / maintain test classes for all custom development
  • Take ownership of release cycles to implement and deploy new/updates to existing integration
  • Act as a release manager, approving configuration and coded items to be deployed between environments. Where appropriate, this could include deploying changes
  • Own the communication and documentation of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
  • Monitor and improve user adoption via User Experience exercises and review
  • Data management to improve Salesforce data quality and integrity, implementing rules and automation as needed including managing data imports, database deduping and cleanup
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and other business stakeholders to drive high levels of data integrity and operational reliability of our standardized business analytics, tools and processes
  • Review and optimize the integration between Marketo and Salesforce system as needed
  • Perform Implementations and QA
  • Stay current on Salesforce technology and releases
  • Stay current on Marketo updates and releases
  • Attendance and on-time reporting
  • Maintains compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • Participates in proactive efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Works effectively and communicates clearly with other employees

Supervision:

Works under general direction. Requires only broad guidelines to accomplish objectives. Uses independent judgment to achieve goals.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA in Computer Science or relevant field, Masters Preferred
  • Marketo Certified Expert with a specialization in Programs & Campaigns
  • Salesforce Advanced Admin or Developer Certified
  • 1+ years of experience with Marketing Automation Development
  • 1+ years of experience with Salesforce Development or Administration
  • 1+ years of Project Management Lifecycle experience

Other Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • At least 1 year of Marketing Automation experience in Marketo including development and deployment of programs integrated with a CRM platform
  • Strong technical understanding of Marketo - workflows and configurations
  • At least 1 year of Salesforce Administration or Development experience and Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud product knowledge
  • Strong technical understanding of how Marketo syncs with Salesforce
  • Previous experience in a Marketing Automation focused role is a bonus but not essential
  • Previous experience working with a Marketing Agency is a bonus but not essential
  • Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a bonus but not essential
  • Experience with Drift is a bonus but not essential
  • A proactive attitude to Salesforce enhancements and bringing existing Integrations forward in their development
  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders / other Salesforce team members
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to write, interpret, and critique technical specifications to design scalable, best practice solutions
  • Confident in documentation and presentations to a broad range of audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication to multiple audiences at all levels
  • Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate concepts visually and in writing in a way that enables stakeholders to decide with confidence

  • Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes

Computer Skills

  • Experience working across various Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud and Service Cloud
  • Experience with other marketing applications such as Marketo is a strong plus
  • Experience in CRM Business processes like Forecasting, Campaign Management, Lead Management, Pipeline Management, Order Management, Account Management, Case Management.
  • Experience in working with Custom Formula Fields, Field Dependencies, Validation Rules, Work Flows, and Approval Processes for automated alerts, field updates, and Email generation according to application requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in Salesforce configuration experience including Apex Class, Apex Triggers, Visual Force, Salesforce development & platform

Work Environment:

Hybrid work environment: Scheduled in-office and the possibility of predetermined work from home (WFH) days as the company deems fit. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. The office work environment can be boisterous in certain areas. Attire is business casual.

Travel:
