Job Description
Exponent Partners is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to own the integrity and strength of the solutions recommended to clients. This position at Exponent Partners will provide you with the opportunity to support core business functions that are critical to the success of our company.
The Solution Architect investigates new technologies and business applications, and designs solutions for complex client needs. You will act as a trusted advisor to our team and clients, and an effective mentor for other Salesforce professionals working alongside you. You will need a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform but just as importantly, top-notch people skills to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions. The successful candidate has deep technical skills, facilitation expertise, strong solution design and documentation capability, and excellent internal and external communication skills.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in customer-facing technical consulting required, working knowledge of nonprofit business processes preferred
- Knowledge of the force.com technical platform and experience designing solutions that leverage Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components as well as declarative tools
- Advanced level understanding of the Salesforce data model, portal types and their limitations, and security model
- At least three (3) Salesforce certifications including Salesforce Certified Admin and Certified Systems Architect
- Experience acting as an analyst tasked to generate both business and technical requirements documentation while leading discovery efforts
- Passionate about sharing knowledge and mentoring others
- Experience with data modeling and relational databases
- Experience in evaluating, implementing, and integrating technology tools
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and blended project management methodologies
- Tact and persuasive abilities
- Strong listening skills and excellent written/verbal communication

What You Will Be Doing:
Deliver elegant, tailored architecture solutions that empower our clients to carry out their mission
- Develop a thorough understanding of the customer’s needs and business objectives.
- Recommend solutions for using technology to achieve the customer’s goals. This includes identifying and evaluating technical automation solutions for business processes.
- Use visualization techniques to communicate findings and recommendations in a way that is attractive, easy to understand, and impactful
- Create and document the proposed data model (ERD) and field level data dictionary.
- Document the requirements and functional specification for projects including use cases, screen mockups, wireframes, integration specifications and field mappings.
- Validates solution components and provide solution walkthrough with customer; Identify technical issues / risks and present alternatives to alleviate or resolve
- Act as a release manager, approving configuration and coded items to be deployed between environments. Where appropriate, this could include deploying changes.
- Provide guidance on user story writing style and ensure success and acceptance criteria are defined for each story.
Provide a strategic, consultative approach to client engagements
- Help the customer envision a better future state for their organization with Salesforce products and Exponent Services.
- Listen for big picture strategic vision as well as immediate business needs of today and make value-add recommendations based on your insights gained through product knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team re: pre-sales success.
- Ensure that solution designs are at sector-leading levels of quality and client satisfaction.
- Maintain high levels of current skills in software-as-a-service (SaaS) architecture, solution design, and Salesforce technologies and best practices.
Act as internal thought leaders at Exponent Partners
- Mentor team members through coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Seek out ways to turn individual customer solutions into repeatable services or solutions.
- Watch for trends and repeating questions from customers to identify opportunities for improvements.
- Document what you’ve discovered, and share with the team.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish successful solution delivery.
- Create technical efficiencies and ensure alignment of technical best practices across the portfolio.
Represent Exponent Partners as thought leaders in the nonprofit and Salesforce marketplaces
